Rumours From Elsewhere

So for the past two years I have been busy developing a video game with some fellow graduates.

The whole has been truly a massive task for all of us but we are now finally seeing results. The demo is pretty much ready to be shipped as soon as we put sounds effects in. I worked on the models, textures and concept art as well as being the director ;)

The game is called

Rumours from Elsewhere

A fantasy action 3D sidescroller game incorporating platforming and rogue-lite elements, rendered in a highly colourful and charming low poly style.

A walk in the dark

Now we are close to the end, just two months more or less and we meet the deadline. I can't lie, I am quite scared, despite we are way ahead in schedule, I feel like I am not ready to move forward...everything has been scheduled for 9 months, what will happen afterwards? All the people I met here will go away and university will be pretty much over. It is exciting in a way but on the other, it is terrifying.

All I can do is work hard, the hardest and as usual hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

I have been quite busy in the last weeks, doing loads of clean ups. We are pretty much done at this point, so I will move to shadows and coloring. I bloody hate cleaning up at this point!

for the game I am working on, I started the 3d model of the highwayman, Aaron Donlon fixed all the mistakes I did.

I AM READY, PITCHES

Ayyyy here is my showreel i presented the third years on my second year here in falmouth university. i wish i added more drawings, but i lost half of them with my hard-drive and i wanted to sync the actual video with the music. I like the general groovy effect, so whatever, i am satisfied with it :)

maya showreel venice

I had little/no experience with Maya, the 3d program, but I knew since the beginning how to model simple shaped things: the creation of this environment allowed me to learn how to texture more efficiently and how to play with the lights (which are a pain, in my opinion), but most important, i learnt that i have to set a project properly in the future if i want to avoid any...issues.



It doesn't look amazing, more like an environment of a game made in the early 90's, but it is something.

Also i couldn't change anything at the end, since it took 2 days and a half to render.

Giacomo Jack Ghigo showreel fall 2013

It all comes to this, my final showreel for Falmouth university Animation and visual effect course.
It includes both 2d and 3d assignments, and i got to say I am quite satisfied with most of them yet as i stated a thousand times already, i feel like i am can still improve a lot.

Music is Spanish Flea by Herb Alpert, i do not own the rights for this song.
