Over the break

New years eve is over, I am done eating an insane amount of food, ready to go back working on my animation. I haven't being able to accomplish much home, mostly because I was too busy write that cursed dissertation. Took a long time but I managed to get it done today.

Well anyway, I still managed to get some backgrounds done for Falling in Love and I am dealing with some color issues: I want the character to blend in but to stand out at the same time...it is an oxymoron but I know what I am doing, ahahah! Or at least I think i do. All my crew member are working on it as well, so hopefully someone will take us out this sticky situation.

In the free time I have been doing some more drawing on Photoshop, I am trying to do different things and different poses. As usual I keep having issues with colors, Don't know if it is the saturation, the shading or the color themselves.

                                           

I managed to scan some of my latest drawing, since I am done with my old sketchbook, I'll practice by coloring them in my free time.

Life drawing second year

This is the first batch of life drawings I did the first part of the year. I hope i am improving, but i still find hard to draw right all the time. I could say I haven't found my technique yet...sometimes I really enjoy the sessions, like the one with ink (GOSH I REALLY LIKE INK AND BRUSHES) other times I struggle so  hard i can't enjoy at all. So far portraits are my favorite, and i still have some issues with proportions: drawing big is quite complicated but I bet it helps big time.

backgrounds for uni

Since i am not allowed to post my 30 backgrounds i did for the third year animation "Crocodile tears", I will post here all the background i did recently in photoshop and non, for the landscape assignment.

 On the left you can see the original scene from my pirate storyboard, while on the right you can see on the first two, a simple layout, while on the last ones, normal colorations with different lightings.
I really like the one in the cave.
I like caves. I might go living in one if i fail animation.

 Now i can safely tell that i am sick of drawing backgrounds. For a little while, i want to focus on anatomy. But yea...i enjoyed drawing most of these (except the fisheye perspective) and it sure helped a lot learning new elements of composition and applying perspective to things.
